Starting at 3.39pm (the time of sunset in Edinburgh) on Thursday 21st Dec, listeners will be able to tune into the audio work on EHFM at any time into the evening, throughout the night to the point of solstice at 3.26am, continuing until the sunrise at 8.42am on Friday 22nd Dec. Long Night Long Stones is a 17 hour and 3 minute long soundscape designed by artist Siân Landau, to mark the Winter Solstice and explore the depths of the earth during the longest night of the year. Stone Club Member no 2688, Sîan Landau sent us information about this wonderful sounding soundscape that they’re recently put together: So come along and celebrate another year of stones and community! We wrote about this last month so will keep it brief this time but needless to say we’re really looking forward to an evening packed with music, art and more from Cosmic Neighbourhood, a talk with Daniel & Clara on their Avebury project, a trip to Callanish through Julian Hand’s fantastic film and music from the wonderful Amy Hollinrake. ![]() On Monday we shall host the last Stone Club of the year at The Social in London. We love reading and sharing ‘ Your Stones ’, your visits and photographs, they are such an important part of our website so please keep them coming! The nights are drawing in, and the shorter days are with us but it matters not because we’re still managing to use the daylight hours and drier days to get out and visit sites and on those wet and more challenging days we have had a chance to catch up on reading and researching, not to mention all of the fantastic contributions that you’ve been sending us.
